Back for the First Time was Ludacris’ first major album, which released 17 years ago, on October 19, 2000. Patchwerk Recording Studios is proud to hold a Multi Platinum plaque commemorating more than 2,000,0000 sold copies of the trailblazing album. Since then it has gone up to 3,000,000 sold!

The name “Back for the First Time” came from the fact that Ludacris had already released an independent project, named Inconegro, but once he signed to Def Jam, they repackaged the project and added some new material to it.

His debut album showed off his humorous nature and included many features, from Pastor Troy in “Get Off Me” to Pharrell in “Southern Hospitality”. Back for the First Time even includes the “Whats your Fantasy” remix, featuring Foxy Brown, Trina, and Shawna!
