If you have ever tuned in to watch HBO's comedy series Insecure, then you might have been entertained by the music which punctuates particular scenes thanks to no other than Solange Knowles? In a time where the soundtracks don't really receive the love as once before, Insecure has no problem fulfilling the void. The creator and star of show Issa Rae understands creating the vibe for the show and the characters associated with it.

The show can be described according to The L.A. Times: The half-hour series explores the friendship between two African American women who deal with their sometimes stormy relationship while also grappling with conflicts inside and outside black culture. Much of the humor has a raw flavor, and does not hold back on sexually frank situations and dialogue."

Raphael Saadiq created original music for the first season. Solange Knowles served as the music consultant.  Director Melina Matsoukas put the scenario together thanks to her extensive werk with the Knowles sisters. She also directed the music video for Knowles's song "Losing You" and werked on Beyonce's Lemonade project. Hearing this story it seemed like a textbook situation for what happens when you properly Network. Never underestimate the power. It can change the entire landscape of your situation and gain great allies in your journey.  What you will experience when listening to the tracks for Insecure will invoke sexy, angry, and joy featuring artist ranging from Kendrick Lamar to Frank Ocean, D'Angelo to ABRA.

How can you check out these great songs featured on the show? You have access to the music simply by heading over to Spotify and checking out their Spotify Profile. If you're just now catching on to the show like myself then all the playlist are currently up for your listening pleasure.  The season finale playlist can be streamed below. I'm sure many other programs will copy the recipe and hopefully will bring about the real return of soundtracks.
