It appears Apple is implementing it's will and locking down a technology that would allow the company to censor audio streams during playback. The patent application, available on patent database Justia and first reported by Business Insider, describes ways of removing "unwanted audio" within streams.
Titled "Management, Replacement and Removal of Explicit Lyrics during Audio Playback," the application was filed in September 2014 and published on March 31, 2016, according to the patent database.
