Events where the winner is based on lyrical prowess is very limited today but that is a true focal point with our "That Tight Thirty Two On Thurzdayz" competition. The producer of the month, Robert Limbo, is also a previous winner so knew what he needed to do for the win. Mixing those beats before submitting is key! The question is, "How would each emcee be able to flip the beat and make it their own?"
Behind the Scenes of That Tight32
On the last Thursday of every month, PWR offers an experience like no other to up and coming producers and emcees. I got a chance to see the contest firsthand, and was blown away by the great vibes, professionalism, talent, and the plain awesomeness of what was taking place. We have to give a shout-out to the winning producer for this month's beats: @MiniProducer
Our monthly contest called That Tight Thirty Two On Thurzdayz(Tight 32) Emcee and Producer contest recently wrapped up with Lelah Mills taking the title for the month of July. As always the contest brings about various emcees from all walks of life and is celebrated with the winner rocking the IdOMUSIC stage to showcase their full ability. Armed with the production of our Tight 32 producer of the month's Robert Limbo, Lelah was able to dress her 32 bars up and show out.
This month That Tight Thirty Two On Thurzdayz Emcee and Producer contest was held in Patchwerk Studio Room 995 instead of the normal Studio 1019 making the vibe crazy for all the emcees to deliver their 32 bars. Artist from Miami, Florida to Akron, Ohio entered for their chance to take the title from our current winner Sammy Surf! Who will be the victor for the month of April?
Many have tried but only one could take the title as the 2016, Tight 32 finale winner.
Over the past year, contestants have competed in the monthly contest held at Patchwerk's very own Studio 1019. On January 9, all of last year's winners were assembled to the studio to determine who the hottest was. One by one, rappers entered the booth to spit a 32-bar track in 15 minutes.
The final Tight 32 contest of 2016 ended with Preme Cordice besting several other emcees for the title. Do yourself a favor and check out his winning verse if you need to understand. The final Tight 32 contest of 2016 was intense as always and when the smoke cleared our winner was Preme. We always get asked the question, "Do the beats have to be trap?" My answer every time is submit your sound. The issue I believe is most haven't found it yet. When you think about Patchwerk Recording Studios the underlining theme should be we are a professional recording studio. We are proficient in sound. Send us your best because that is what we expect 100% of the time. The emcees are going to paint the picture but the canvas is set up by the producer. The production this month came from our first winner ever of the Tight 32 contest in January Kanagroo809. Check out how the winning emcee Preme handled his production. Interview with Preme coming up end of week.
The monthly contest designed for hip hop producers and emcees took place Thursday, November 17th at the legendary Patchwerk Recording Studios. 12 emcees signed up and only a few were able to complete the task of spitting 32 bars within the 15 minute time frame. The winner of our producer portion Kangaroo809 was the selected winner of the month beating out 12 other producers for the monthly title. This is actually Kangaroo's second time winning this year. Each emcee took a different approach and delivered heat. We want you to check out the verses and let us know who was the best out of the group. Simply leave comments below.
Producers looking for an opportunity and exposure should get involved with That Tight Thirty Two On Thurzdayz contest. The event benefits both producers and emcees. Producers must submit three wav files for review. The staff selects which producer has the best three tracks. If selected the producer is invited to attend the session and watch multiple emcees spit over their production. The producers can exchange contact info and build a relationship with the talented emcees for future collaborations. Put some definition to your sound!
The winner of the producer portion for That Tight Thirty Two On Thurzdayz for the month of August goes to Chase The Money hailing from St.Louis, Missouri. Similar to the emcee registration, Chase entered the contest going against some heavy hitters. Every month the judges look for production that make it fairly easy for true emcees to feel comfortable unleashing 32 bars inside the Sonically Superior establishment known as Patchwerk Recording Studios. Check out our interview with Chase The Money and connect with him for your next project!
