5 Best Web Hosts to Launch Your Artist Website

Written by

Organizing all of your music, content and contact information in one location—that is consistent with your branding is critical for the success of your musical career. Your personalized website is your around the clock, 24/7 liaison that will globally promote you while you're sound asleep. It also provides a professional hub to communicate with your fan base and simple accessibility for your network leads to contact you. While having profiles on entertainment geared social networking sites such as Reverbnation, Facebook, etc. is important, you're competing with thousands of other artists and distracting advertisements. Presenting an industry professional with a customized website (with your own domain name) makes you, the artist, memorable and doubly serves as your electronic press kit. More importantly, you want to know who is listening to your music, at what times, and how often. You want need to know the facts and statistics and you can only get that with a web host. Here are 5 idomusiconline recommended web hosts that offer features specifically for musicians with no website design skills (or time) required.

The International Music Conference (IMC) hosted an Artist Showcase last Friday, September 12th at Harlem Nights Ultra Lounge in Atlanta, Georgia. Talents of all genres competed for the coveted prize of personal meetings with Atlanta A&R executives. As you could imagine the artist showcase differed greatly from the previous night's producer showcase. In the artist showcase, judges had several additional factors to consider outside of production such as image, stage presence, vocal talent, lyrical ability, etc. The judge panel consisted of Associate Director of Writer/Publisher Relations of SESAC, Greggory Smith; Manager & A&R, Charles Connor; and Membership for ASCAP, Joncier Rienecker. Drawn from the remarks of the judges, we compiled 4 lessons learned from the artist showcase. You can use these tips to improve your next performance.

The International Music Conference hit the Sheraton Hotel in Atlanta Georgia beginning on September 10-14th. The IMC combines all facets of today’s music scene and places artists, songwriters, executives, and other music professionals in the same room to network and construct real opportunities domestically and aboard.

I attended a full day of panels discussing everything from how up and coming entertainers can get their foot in the door, to how you can create a cost effective tour. In today’s music we see that a “star” can be made simply by uploading a few singles on to YouTube and gaining major label interest, alla Justin Bieber and Iggy Azalea to name a few. But that route may or may not hold the same level of success, in starting or sustaining your music career nowadays.

The International Music Conference (IMC) returned to Atlanta for it's 4th Annual conference congregating prominent industry professionals and aspiring creatives together for four event packed days beginning Wednesday, September 10th.

Thursday, September 11th, IMC hosted an exciting and entertaining Producer Showcase at Harlem Nights Ultra Lounge. The showcase allotted an opportunity for up & coming producers to present their material to a judge panel and compete for one-on-one meetings with the IMC industry professional network in London. “The IMC provides invaluable feedback and advice about taking your career to the next level,” says IMC CEO/Founder Julia Huie-Martin to Allhiphop.com. “A lot of our registrants [...] are still in contact with panelists from last year."

Tips To A Better Live Show

Written by

How can you make your live show performance better? Please understand jumping around on stage for however long your set doesn't qualify as quality either. Considering how money is made for artist/bands in today's music climate, the live show shouldn't be an afterthought.
Most artists understand the importance between a great producer and a great recording, but they fail to recognize the need for the same type of investment (time, energy, money) into their live show. What is the purpose of songwriting days on end, sleepless nights in the studio, and a few minutes before a show figuring out what songs you actually are going to perform? Seems a bit counter productive don't you think? It might be time to change your mind. Producing your live show is an investment that will pay off tremendously. Watch the merchandise sales go up, more bookings become readily available and it's the best marketing tool because word of mouth is the best buzz!
