Taylor Swift makes selling a million in records easy with her latest project 1989 released Monday, October 27th. She is on track to sell 1.2 million copies currently! This is pretty amazing considering up until now not one artist has released a Platinum-certified album in 2014. Taylor Swift isn't new to this as her 2012 project Red sold 1.2 million in a week, according to Nielsen Soundscan.

Official sale figures won't be available until Wednesday, November 5th but should stand alone in next week's Billboard 200 chart. The big contributors to Taylor Swift's numbers were the usual retail suspects, Target and Apple iTunes Store. Apple says 1989 broke the pre-order record in its U.S. store.

If 1989 sells as forecasted, it will become the biggest-selling album released in 2014 after only one week on sale, have the largest sales week by any album since Red, and make Swift the only act to earn three million-selling weeks.

Check back with us next week for final sale numbers and we examine Ms.Swift social network reach.
