We are three months in to the return of the IdOMUSIC showcase and it just keeps getting better! A great night of quality networking and lit performances! Hosted by Sammy Approved and Ron Tha DJ kept the vibe on point all night. What did you miss??

The open mic and spotlight performances are crowd favorites but the feedback provided by guest Patchwerk Recording Studio staff add another layer of great entertainment. The music review program titled "Cookies and Lemonade" guest Andrè Mosley and audio engineer Glenn Thomas gave critical feedback on the performances. One of the many acts, Mark Universe, began his performance by shouting out Patchwerk founder Curtis Daniel III a happy birthday! Following Mark's performance Curtis took the time to drop some gems on the participants of the event reminding them of the importance of bringing people with you to shows and having your friends support.

"Quit going out by yourself" he says. "In the end if you want to get a deal with a record label they want you if you can get people in the audience and sell product".

The IdOMUSIC Conversation portion for the night invited T.I.'s official DJ, DJ MLK for a Q&A with Sammy. You may know him from his hashtag #GoodnightDontExistInAtlanta. During the segment DJ MLK speaks on how his father, who was a road DJ, instilled some values in him regarding music that he still applies in his daily life today. He also talks about how important it is to "Identify your market" and the differences from being a road DJ and working on your own.

"Being a radio DJ is cool, but Atlanta is all about the streets" he says.  DJ MLK currently works with Grand Hustle as T.I.'s road DJ and has been since 2005 along with having residency at multiple venues. "Being on that tour life I've established work relationships with other significant DJs in different markets" he mentions, going back to how important it is to make connections with people.

After the conversation with DJ MLK the Patchwerk staff hit the stage once again for the second portion of performances. Atlanta native Levii, performed his original song Levinati. Another Atlanta born rapper Chavis engaged the crowd by having them chant the chorus to his song. "Running running running running running for hope" they sung. Many of the artist performing were from other states traveling for opportunity to be heard. Brudda G of Miami, Florida, Lamar Casey from Ohio, and Katt from Long Island, NY were a few of the talented guest.

Patchwerkstudio's Production Studio sponsored by Native Instruments.  Next up was our emcee of the month Sammy Surf taking the stage to perform two original songs. Sammy Surf's stage presence won the crowd over and showed why he deserved the spotlight. To end off the night Patchwerk's own Tight 32 brand ambassador who won against 12 MC's last year, Preme Cordice hit the stage to perform his latest records.

Our Spotlight performers featured Sonny Rose hailing from Missouri and Bugatti representing Ohio. Each got the chance to show and prove their skills and made a few new fans by the end of the night.

The next IdOMUSIC® showcase will be held Thursday May 4th at Apache Cafe. Hope to see you in attendance! If interested in participating in show email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
