Jay-Z Releases BAM BAM Sister Nancy and Damian *Junior Gong* Marley take Jay-Z back to Jam down in the feature video from his critically acclaimed project 4:44. The single has gained momentum since the album launched on TIDAL and includes vocals from Bob Marley's youngest son Junior Gong alongside popular female emcee Sister Nancy. The track is a remake from Sista Nancy's classic anthem Bam Bam, that in recent years has been sampled in several projects including Kanye's song "Famous" featuring Rihanna & Swiss Beats.
We are looking for a few entertaining individuals to join us for our fall programming of curated events empowering artist and musicians worldwide. Our candidates will have a genuine love of music and wanting to directly impact the community through our online shows. Our shows are simply dedicated to the music. How are you preparing yourself for the next step and who is documenting the journey? Maybe it's you.
Oh I know what you are thinking today. Where in the world is that Patchwerk Recording Studio Playlist right?? A wide range of tunes has kept the staff up late at night and early in the morning werking on the sound for our clients and crafting marketing activities for IdOMUSIC®. I'm pleased to be able to have you peak into the house of sonically super sound and digest our monthly playlist. You may find a couple jewels in the list you can consider rocking to.
Our monthly contest called That Tight Thirty Two On Thurzdayz(Tight 32) Emcee and Producer contest recently wrapped up with Lelah Mills taking the title for the month of July. As always the contest brings about various emcees from all walks of life and is celebrated with the winner rocking the IdOMUSIC stage to showcase their full ability. Armed with the production of our Tight 32 producer of the month's Robert Limbo, Lelah was able to dress her 32 bars up and show out.
The Plaque of the Month for July goes to the Brooklyn emcee Nas. Listed in many conversations as one of hip hop's greatest, Patchwerk Recording Studio's has the honor of saying we have werked on numerous projects including the July 15, 2008 release "Untitled." Amongst all the excitement of Jay Z releasing what some view as his most socially awoke album, you only need to look in your hip hop history books to realize Nasir Jones has tackled these issues for years.
As we prepare for our contest today it is important for us to share the stories of the winners who grace our platform. This month we had a couple of milestones take place. The producer segment featured our first female producer hailing from Brooklyn, NYC who is not new to winning trophies as well as a talented emcee from Ahoskie, NC winning the contest at our first live Tight 32 performance. What I mean by live is we hosted the competition at our monthly showcase IdOMUSIC at Apache Cafe and let the audience decide the winner. Shout out to Rodrick R.O.C and Ms.Madli for representing. Check out their interviews below and come see them rock the stage at Opera Nightclub tonight!
In preparation for our upcoming IdOMUSIC TV programming we will conduct a casting call seeking personalities, host, and djs. It is important for us to find the talented individuals who have a love for music and love to engage in conversation when ever possible. This is what we do on a daily and excited to bring others into our world.
On the daily I speak with several artist and musicians who say they are ready to elevate their career and be heard. There is no blueprint to the music business today but consistency is key. Creating a powerful network of individuals who are actually WERKING in the music industry can change everything. Every 1st Thursday of the month Patchwerk Recording Studios host an network and showcase event to assist the talent who understand this philosophy. We focus on four direct elements at all our events. The DC representative always has a few records on his albums that get constant rotation in my playlist. This time around he set it off again with the track titled Scarface Rozay Gotti. A tribute to three artist he highly respects and didn't disappoint for sure.
I want to be very clear when I say the playlist submitted for your listening pleasure is what our current staff has on replay during the past month. It isn't necessary the tracks coming out of the studio but what we like to rock out to when we are relaxing. The beauty in the list is you never know what you'll hear. This month we have records ranging from Stevie Wonder to The Pussycat Dolls. I hope you enjoy.
